For Class Schedules, Information, and Registration 'Click Here'  What We Do,The Art Club offers 4-week art sessions, or one day classes for children ages 2-12, and 1-day art workshops for all ages. We strive to introduce children to the exciting world of art! This is done by exposing them to different mediums, art processes, artists, and the language of art. The classes also expose children to different cultures, values, and ideas, laying the foundation for art appreciation and technique. At the end of each class, children will get the opportunity to share their work with the class in an art circle. This will help them to communicate their ideas and develop verbal skills. Who We Are,Hello, we are Kyle Schmidt and Jessica Coughlin. We are both New York State certified art teachers with degrees from The College of St. Rose. We have experience teaching in the public school setting. We love teaching art to children and challenging young students to create pieces that are high quality, fun, creative, and imaginative. Between our two families we have 5 children, ranging in age from 3-7. Our children are always busy in the studio and we have come to rely on them to test out a lot of our projects! With their help, we are able to try different art processes, seeing what works and what doesn't before we introduce them to our students. Why We Do It,Art helps children with problem solving skills and critical thinking Art is a great way for children to express themselves Art strengthens communication, exploration, and imagination Art develops self confidence and persistence Art not only helps children intellectually, it helps them socially by strengthening their confidence as well at their ability to work with others It teaches children to learn from the world around them and to see beauty in uncommon places. Art provides fulfillment in what children have produced and aides in lifelong participation in the arts. It helps children express themselves and cultivates freedom of expression. Art can often be a non-verbal communication and can prove to be therapeutic for many. 'Like' us on Facebook for up to the minute photos and updates FACEBOOK Painting Parties for adults We can also accommodate parties for special occasions such as ladies night out in our location, or Jessica will come to your house so you can "paint and stay". You can pick a painting and we will guide your group through the process of creating your own masterpiece. All supplies will be provided and you are invited to bring your own snacks and drinks.
